When spring arrives in Las Vegas, the pool clubs start to open. A few years ago, the Vegas hotels discovered that combining the pool with the nightclub was the perfect way to unite bikini-wearing women, music, cabanas, food, and plenty of adult beverages. Ever since then, spring in Las Vegas means that dayclub season has officially started.
Spring 2012 has already seen several clubs open in March:
—MGM Grand’s Wet Republic, the ultra-cool Ultra Pool is known as a favorite of celebrities.
—The Mirage’s Bare Pool is tops optional.
—Aria’s Liquid Pool Lounge offers an upscale, more laid-back atmosphere.
—Encore Beach Club is only open on weekends until April. At night, it become Surrender Nightclub.
—Mandalay Bay’s Moorea Beach also offers European-style sunbathing.
Expect an entrance fee, and do remember that the casinos require cover-ups.
Yet to open in 2012:
—Tao Beach at the Venetian
—Venus Pool Club at Caesars
—Marquee Dayclub at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
—Rehab at Hard Rock
Standard options include music and DJs, food, and drink service. You can also go all-out with a fully stocked cabana (look for extras like flat screen TVs, mini-fridges, among a host of other goodies). The idea here is to re-create the vibe of the nightclub, so it’s a 21-only crowd. If you’re looking for a place to settle in for afternoon of sun, food, and music, a Vegas pool club might be just what you’re looking for.
